Why we (Brew mechanic) do this

When embarked on our distilling journey. The Brew Mechanic came across many undecided crossroads and obstacles. Upon gaining our knowledge, we decided that it was too confusing for a new hobby distiller to learn the ropes.

Everything is hidden behind loopholes and unknown doors. With the secret methods or potions never revealed by most grumpy old buggers. We have decided to provide the perfect beginner starter guide for learning alcohol brewing.

What is the spirit guide?

Once upon a time, a chemical engineer worked tirelessly in his lab (garage) to create the perfect brew. He scoured online forums, but all he found were mean-spirited people who offered no help.

He knew he had to go on a journey of SPIRITual discovery to learn the secrets of brewing. After many tests and sips, he finally had a wtf (what the f#ck) moment and discovered the perfect potion. And thus, The Brew Mechanic was born!

Welcome to the Ultimate Spirit guide by The Brew Mechanic, my friend. Let’s discover the magic of brewing together!

The Brew Mechanic master

I’m delighted to share my knowledge with you about alcohol brewing. As a Production Petro Chemical Engineer with a laboratory background, I have gained experience working at Shell & BP Durban oil Refinery, and NCP Ethyl Alcohols Distillery in Durban, South Africa.

Although I brewed as a hobby back in South Africa, I have extensive knowledge about distillation, vacuum distillation, boilers, water treatment plants, fractionation, and isomerization plants (alkylation blending of fuels). I also understand the importance of IBP, FBP, and Azeotrope boiling points in the brewing process. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll be happy to help!

The Brew Mechanic Apprentice

The son of The Brew Mechanic Master, he is a young apprentice joining the journey of distilling with the amazing wizardry guidance of his dad. They have brewed together plenty of batches from small to big.

He contributes to bringing this vision into a reality. He wants to help young novices with this awesome fun hobby and make it more relatable & understandable.

With the goal of you getting off on the right foot from the get-go. Get reading & get brewing!
